Easter Cruise “The Shake-Down Cruise”
Saturday 1st April to Wednesday 5th April [5 days]
[Hamble, France & Channel Islands]
Jolie Brise will just have completed her winter refit. The itinerary was to sail across the Channel to Omonville-la-Rogue, then on to the Channel Islands before returning to Hamble.
Summer Half Term Cruise “The Riddle of the Sands, followed by the world’s biggest Yacht Race”
Saturday 27th May to Sunday 4th June [9 days]
[Ijmuiden, Holland to Hamble]
Sailing from Ijmuiden to the Ijsselmere via Amsterdam, and the north sea canal. Then cruising through the Dutch Inland Sea of the Ijsslemere, before heading north to visit the Dutch Frisian Islands of Texel and Tershelling. Then sailing south to the Solent on the South Coast of England to take part in the JP Morgan Round the Isle of Wight Race on Saturday 3rd June, competing against nearly 2,000 other yachts. Then returning to Hamble on Sunday 4th June.
Summer Cruise 1 - “A Brittany Extravaganza”
Friday 30th June to Friday 7th July [8 days]
[Hamble to St Malo, France]
Sailing from Hamble, cruising to Brittany in France and the Channel Islands before sailing to St Malo for the start of the 50th Anniversary of Tall Ships celebrations, taking part in the opening festivities then returning to school in time for the Summer Ball.
Summer Cruise 2 - “The Big Race Leg”
Thursday 6th July to Tuesday 25th July [20 days]
[St Malo, France to Lisbon, Portugal]
This cruise starts in St Malo, taking part in the opening celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of Tall Ships Races before racing to Lisbon via Torquay in the opening race. This should be a great sail, as first of all there is the Bay of Biscay, but after La Coruna we shall be blasting down the Spanish and Portuguese coasts sailing with the Portuguese trade winds behind us. After leaving Jolie Brise there will be two nights camping at selected seaside campsites on the trip back to school.
Summer Cruise 3 - “Going to meet the Senoras and Senoritas of the Ria’s”
Wednesday 19th July to Tuesday 8th August [21 days]
[Lisbon, Portugal to Camarinas, Spain]
Joining Jolie Brise in Lisbon, Portugal taking part in two days of festivities in Lisbon before cruising in company with the Tall Ships fleet, stopping at various nice places whilst sailing south to Cadiz near the entrance to the Mediterranean. Taking part in the festivities and activities in Cadiz and then cruising north, stopping at numerous ports on the Portuguese and Spanish coasts, before finally arriving in Camarinas.
Summer Cruise 4 - “Going for Gold”
Wednesday 2nd August to Sunday 20th August [19 days]
[Camarinas, Spain to Antwerp, Belgium]
Cruise starts in Camarinas, sailing around Cape Finisterre into La Coruna for the Tall Ships celebrations before racing to Antwerp in the final Race Leg of Tall Ships 2006, on a route that traditionally Jolie Brise does very well in the race, across the Bay of Biscay with the whole Tall Ships Fleet. Then taking part in the massive celebrations marking the end of the 50th Anniversary of Tall Ships Races in Antwerp.
Summer Cruise 5 - “Collecting Belgian Chocolates” Sunday 20th August to Wednesday 30th August [10 days] [Antwerp, Belgium to Ipswich]
Arriving Antwerp in time for the spectacular finale to the 50th Anniversary Celebrations of Tall Ships Races. Sailing from Antwerp to Ipswich via Amsterdam, the Dutch Inland Sea (The Issjlmere) and the Dutch Frisian Islands of Texel and Tershelling, before sailing back to England finishing in Ipswich on the East Coast of England.
Summer Cruise 6 - “The Final Run Home” Wednesday 30th August to Thursday 7th September [9 days] [Ipswich to Hamble]
Sailing from Ipswich, south to the beautiful town of Honfleur around the Cotentin Peninsular and then back across the Channel into the River Hamble in time to return to school for the start of the new school year.
