Sailing season gets underway
Over the Easter break two groups of Fourth Form pupils enjoyed a four-day spell on 'Jolie Brise'. Everyone learnt a lot and had a great time despite the un-seasonally cold temperatures. The unpredictable forecast forced a change in the itinerary with 'Jolie Brise' heading to Weymouth instead of across the Channel followed by day trips in the Solent with stop-overs in Yarmouth, Lymington and Beaulieu.
The pupils also enjoyed taking part in a photo shoot for Yachting World with top-sailing photographer Rick Tomlinson. Rick is best known for capturing the Southern Ocean at its most treacherous from the decks of various yachts in the Whitbread Round the World Race.
'Jolie Brise' will be in action on the Solent again this weekend with a crew of Dauntsey’s parents who will join her in Yarmouth for the Pilot Cutters Regatta, St George's Day Trophy from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st April.
